Chubby Chaser

Dear Diary,

This month has taught me that I have a love which may exceed the love for MAC lipsticks.  It was unplanned.  Unexpected.  A true guilty pleasure that I cannot get out of my head.  The moment I saw those bright colours bouncing across the TV screen, I knew I had to have it.  Gorgeous, sensual, mouth watering shades.  I need them glazed on my lips.

I'm referring, of course, to the Clinique Chubby Sticks.  Ever since they released the 8 new shades, I have been hooked and cannot get enough.

It all started with Chunky Cherry

I love this rich cherry red so much, I had to have another one.

So I treated myself to Pudgy Peony

Which only fueled the addiction.  With June being my birthday month, my boyfriend (seeing my need to have more and because he likes it when I'm in a good mood) offered to get me two more as my birthday present - Two Ton Tomato

and Voluptious Violet

You'd think this is enough...but no.  The work lot got me Woppin Watermelon

And my mum got me Mighty Mimosa

It's safe to say my 24th has clearly been sponsored by Clinique.  6 shades obtained in only a couple of days, I'm truly optimistic about the rest of the week.

You've probably guessed that I'm a collecter of make-up, but in this instance it's not just about the names and the pretty colours.  Clinique really have an amazing range of chubby sticks that are not only amazing in colour, but great in texture too.  With no sticky residue, all they leave behind are soft, kissable lips.

Pick of the week - Karen Millen

I will always have a soft spot for Karen Millen.  After all, being a Sales Adviser there was the first job I ever had.  But as bias as my view may be, I still think it's by far the most exciting store out there.  You enter it and nothing's a mess.  There are no clashing colours stacked on top of each other.  It's not like that.  You don't enter it with a panic, wondering where on earth to start first.  Your eyes rest and they rest well, taking in all the glorious items in sight - it's a perfectionists dream.

A lot may argue that the Karen Millen look can seem very samey - every season has the same styles, just slightly altered.  I have to whole-heartedly disagree with this.  For me, Karen Millen has always been about versatility.  It's your one stop shop for the perfect prom dress, but also the place to go for your weekend casual look.  The clothes last, not just in quality, but in style.  Yes, it's on the higher end of the high street prices, but the items aren't throwaways - they're beautiful investments.
I love this lilac, 20s pleat dress.  The fabric feels amazing and once on, you'll never want to take it off.  I've teamed it with this glistening deco beaded jacket (limited edition so do hurry!).  It's one of my favourites by far because it can literally be worn with anything.
The organza clutch is heaven sent.  I wore this to an event and I have never received so many compliments, and the shoes are a must-have.
If you want to splurge on one fashion item this month, make sure it's from Karen Millen.

Wedding Day Blues

On June 2nd 2012, it was the day of one of my best friend's wedding.  To say I was emotional would be a grand understatement, because as I sat there watching the ceremony, and saw her stunning lacy, 50s style dress as she walked down the isle, all I cold think was, 'Wow! How did we grow up so fast?  Surely it was only yesterday that we were a couple of punk rocker school girls listening to Blink 182, wearing chains on our jeans and dying our hair black.  And here we are - 10 years later and the story has changed so drastically.

When I got the invitation, I knew my dress had to be simple but colourful.  So I decided to go for this Karen Millen number

This dress caught my attention with its multitude of blue tones.  Floaty and summery, for me, it made the perfect dress for a wedding.

Dress: Karen Millen
ClutchFiorelli
Shall: Osprey
Shoes: Karen Millen
Necklace: Topshop

I completely forgot to pack a lipstick, so had to rush to Sainbury's before heading to the wedding to purchase something.

I got this stunning pink shade in Pink Blush from Rimmel.  The colour is gorgeous and the texture is so soft.
